Association for the Protection of Rural Metchosin

The Association for the Protection of Rural Metchosin is a non-profit society dedicated to maintaining the rural quality of life and peaceful coexistence of homes, farmlands, diverse livelihoods, natural habitats, forests, and trails in the community.

Emily Carr String Quartet Society

The Emily Carr String Quartet has established itself as one of BC’s finest music ensembles.  The quartet is formed by members of the Victoria Symphony Orchestra and other professional music ensembles.  In 2011 the quartet incorporated into a Not for Profit Society which is based in Metchosin. The ECSQ has performed their Main Series program twice a season in Metchosin since 2013 at St. Mary of the Incarnation Church, 4125 Metchosin Road.

Metchosin 4H Club

The 4-H program provides young people with an opportunity to learn how to become productive, self-assured adults who can make their community and country a good place in which to live.

Metchosin Arts & Cultural Centre Association

The MACCA purpose is to provide suitable facilities and programs for the arts and cultural community in Metchosin.

Home of the Metchosin BioBlitz and MycoBlitz.

Metchosin Community House

A non-profit community-building organization, open to all members of the community, with the purpose of initiating, encouraging and organizing a variety of educational, recreational, cultural and other community activities within Metchosin.

Metchosin Equestrian Society

A non-profit society horse club that was formed in 1988 to provide riding facilities, take care of the Municipal Riding Ring and establish a permanent trail system in Metchosin.

The Metchosin Free Range Singers is a four part harmony community choir that welcomes any and all voices interested in a choral experience, from absolute beginner to seasoned professional, no matter where they live.

Calling on Metchosin council to protect the local environment, effectively enforce our bylaws, protect Aquifer 606 and the Bilston Creek Watershed, stop industrial development in Metchosin, and defend the spirit and terms of the Official Community Plan.

Metchosin Helps

The Metchosin Refugee Sponsorship Group (MRSG) was formed to sponsor the Sunil family’s journey to Canada. We consist of members of St Mary’s Anglican Church, along with anyone else from the broader community who would like to help.

Metchosin Museum Society

The Metchosin Museum Society was founded in 1972, the centennial year of the Metchosin Schoolhouse. The Society now operates the Schoolhouse Museum, with displays and activities focusing primarily on education in Metchosin between 1872 and 1914; the Pioneer Museum, which features household items, farm equipment, and photographs from the days of the early settlers, as well as the original Metchosin stagecoach; and Old Barn Books, a used book store (located in the entryway to the Pioneer Museum) which generates most of the Society’s operating funds.

Race Rocks Ecological Reserve

Race Rocks Ecological Reserve was established to protect intertidal and subtidal communities that are extremely rich as a result of strong tidal currents.

Rocky Point Bird Observatory

Rocky Point Bird Observatory seeks to influence and inform conservation and ecological management practises of migratory birds in western North America through monitoring, scientific research and public education.

Victoria Motorcycle Club

Motorcycle Club and riding area located in Metchosin BC with members and motorcycle enthusiasts from the Greater Victoria Area. Since its beginning, the Victoria Motorcycle Club has promoted the sport of motorcycling of all types and for all ages. As a non-profit organization, we believe that riding is one of the few things left that is family oriented, healthy, enjoyable and isn’t prohibitively expensive.

Wild ARC

The BC SPCA Wild Animal Rehabilitation Centre (Wild ARC) on Southern Vancouver Island treats over 1,800 injured and orphaned wild animals each year.
