Metchosin Museum Society

The Metchosin Museum Society was founded in 1972, the centennial year of the Metchosin Schoolhouse. The Society now operates the Schoolhouse Museum, with displays and activities focusing primarily on education in Metchosin between 1872 and 1914; the Pioneer Museum, which features household items, farm equipment, and photographs from the days of the early settlers, as well as the original Metchosin stagecoach; and Old Barn Books, a used book store (located in the entryway to the Pioneer Museum) which generates most of the Society’s operating funds.
