Film Night at the MCA: Two short films by Ragnarock Studio’s Taylor Mar
April 26 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
Ragnarock Studio, a small but mighty media company based in Metchosin will be holding a screening of their two new shows on Friday April 26th at the Community House. Come and check out the pilot episodes for The Fishin’ Musician’s Kitchen and Sacred Knowledge, both produced right here in Metchosin and Southern Vancouver Island. In The Fishin Musician’s Kitchen, Rock and Roll host Steve ‘King’ Ling (drummer for the Roper Show) invites the viewer and musical guests out into the ocean, teaches them how to catch the day’s targeted seafood and then shows them how to prepare a gourmet followed by a tasty jam session. Filmed out of Cheanuh Marina and Salt Spring Island.
Sacred Knowledge invites you to learn the ancient and empowering skills of Bushcraft and Wilderness Survival with host Taylor Mar, as he brings together a community of knowledge keepers from around the region and invites everyday people into the bush to learn about primitive skills. The First Chapter “Quest for Fire” invites Jesse Roper and Pete MacDonald into the Rainforests of Metchosin and Port Renfrew to teach them how to source materials, carve a bow-drill kit and create fire by friction.
The series also offers free in-depth tutorials, shot in both a traditional video format and a 360-degree virtual environment which serve to supplement each chapter of the show.
